Episode 12: Wonder Woman and Amazons

An introduction into Wonder Woman’s origin story, with a look at some ancient views of the Amazons, mythical (or are they?) warrior women said to inhabit the far eastern reaches of the Greek world. Follow along on our map of the area around the Black Sea as you listen!

This week’s art is inspired by our episode and features two Amazons, Wonder Woman and an ancient mythical depiction of an Amazon in Scythian dress and holding a typical half-moon shield and Scythian cap. One can only imagine what they might be talking about.
